Hadi Sacko has revealed that his agent is in contact with Sporting Lisbon about the possibility of a permanent move to Leeds.
Sacko is on a season-long loan with the Yorkshire giants and has admitted he is interested in being at Elland Road beyond this season.
The Yorkshire Evening Post claim the winger has a £54million buyout clause in his contract with parent club Sporting, which runs until 2020.
But it is said that Leeds are keen on a permanent deal for Sacko and that he will not cost anything like his massive release fee.
The report states that the Championship giants regard the 22-year-old as a tempting investment at the right price.
Asked about his desire to join Leeds permanent, Sacko told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “At the moment it’s good. At the moment I want to stay no problem. But one year is a long (time). My agent, he speaks with Sporting sometimes but me, no, I don’t speak with Sporting. I’m just focused on my new team.
“I just want to play and I want to score more. And get more assists too. If I work and work in training, it’ll get better for me in the statistics. I don’t always have the time because we play every three days but in this international break I’ve been working. It’s for the future.”
Sacko has settled in well at Leeds after his season-long switch from Portugese side Sporting, the club he joined in 2014 and for whom he has not played a senior match.
The former France Under-20 international has featured in 12 matches for Garry Monk’s side, 10 of which he has started, and has scored one goal and provided two assists.
Significantly, he has provided Leeds with an electrifying presence down the right flank, offering pace and penetration in abundance.
Leeds beat Barnsley 2-1 in their last league match to climb into the top half of the Championship for the first time this season.
Monk’s side are 11th in the table after securing five wins from six matches in all competitions, and their fourth in five league encounters.
In other Leeds transfer news, a 25-year-old has signed for the club after agreeing terms.
