Mario Balotelli’s agent has claimed the Liverpool striker just needs the right opportunity to relaunch his stalled career.
The 25-year-old has been told he can leave Liverpool by Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp, after scoring just one Premier League goal for the Merseyside club. After being feted as one of the world’s leading forwards, Balotelli’s stock has never never been lower.
However, his agent, Mino Raiola, believes that Balotelli can still become the player he was once expected to be.
“In life it’s never too late,” Mino Raiola told Corriere dello Sport.
“If you think Mario makes me despair, you’re wrong because his life has improved a lot and now he just needs the right opportunity.
“Of course, he also needs a bit of luck which he hasn’t had over the last two seasons, but I assure you he’s a great person, a lad with a big heart.
“Where will he go? I’m saying nothing. Let’s see what happens, I won’t close the door on any solution. That goes for Mario and all my players.
“I listen to what is offered to me and then I decide along with them.”
The Italy international spent last season on loan at AC Milan and scored just one goal in 20 Serie A appearances. The Champions League winner is keen to show that he can still cut it at the top level, with two years remaining on his Liverpool contract.
The controversial forward has most recently been linked with a return to the club he started at, Inter Milan with former boss Roberto Mancini.
If the former Inter striker agrees to join Mancini it would be the fourth time he has agreed to play at the San Siro after his initial spell at Inter (2007-2010) and two subsequent loan deals with Inter’s rivals AC Milan.
However, fans of Inter won’t be too keen on bringing their former striker back. As well as playing for city rivals AC Milan, the striker also appeared on television wearing the AC shirt while still on the books at Inter.
