Super agent Mino Raiola has claimed that his client Mario Balotelli is one of the top four strikers in the world, after the former Liverpool star has seemingly rejuvenated his career at Ligue 1 leaders Nice.
In an interview with Corriere Dello Sport, as quoted in The Sun, Raiola talked up his player and said that 2017 could be his year.
“He has started very well in France, now he needs to continue like that,” Raiola said. “We are both more and more satisified to have chosen Nice.
“2017 could be the year of Balotelli. When he is 100 per cent, he is among the best four forwards in the world. Three of them are mine [Balotelli, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Romelu Lukaku].”
Balotelli suffered a torrid time at Anfield scoring just four goals in 28 appearances over a two-year period that also saw him endure an unsuccessful loan spell with AC Milan.
After a summer that saw him linked with a number of clubs, including Turkish giants Galatasaray, Balotelli eventually joined Nice on a free transfer.
Since then Balotelli has scored six goals in five appearances, with five goals in three Ligue 1 games.
Thanks to Balotelli’s impressive goal tally, Nice are top of Ligue 1 with six wins from eight games and a total of 20 points.
