Alan Shearer has claimed that Liverpool’s front three of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane is the best in the Premier League right now.

The Reds front three have been in impressive form in the new campaign, all contributing to Liverpool’s impressive stat of 18 goals in their first seven fixtures.

Without a clear out and out scorer both Firmino and Coutinho top the league scoring charts with four goals each, while Mane falls just behind with three.

Now former Newcastle legend and Match of the Day pundit Shearer has stated that the Liverpool strike force is the best in the league at the moment.

“They still look suspect at the back, particularly from set- pieces. But going forward they are irresistible,” wrote Shearer in his column for the Sun.

“The front three of Roberto Firmino, Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane is simply the best in the league right now.

“The whole team possess so much energy, which they need to play out Klopp’s high-pressing game.”

Liverpool are currently sat in fourth place in the Premier League, three points behind league leaders Manchester City and many, including Shearer now believe they are in with a chance of winning the title.

They will face their fiercest rivals Manchester United on a Monday, which is set-up to be an enthralling encounter between fourth and seventh.

In other Liverpool news, Graeme Souness has admitted he fears Jurgen Klopp’s side could run out of steam due to his high-intensity approach.
