Dele Alli has described new Tottenham signing Vincent Janssen as a “great player” they thrashed Inter Milan 6-1 on Friday.
Alli scored once in the pre-season friendly, as did Janssen, while fellow striker Harry Kane scored twice.
In an interview with Sky Sports, Alli expressed his pleasure that Spurs had bought a striker capable of performing alongside Kane.
“He’s a great player and showed what he’s got to offer,” said Alli.
“He scored a goal, and for mine I just played it to him, he laid it off and I put it in the back of the net.
“I’m also pleased for Harry. You know what you’re going to get with him. You know he’s going to score goals whoever he plays against and it’s two great finishes for him and I’m sure he’ll be delighted.”
Janssen moved to White Hart Lane in a £18.8million transfer from AZ Alkmaar earlier in July to add some more firepower to their frontline.
The 22-year-old was the top scorer in the Dutch League last season with an impressive haul of 27 goals in 34 games, with a further five goals in other competitions.
The Holland spearhead has also scored three goals in five international appearances even though he only made his international bow in March. He scored the equaliser from the penalty spot in the recent friendly against England at Wembley and netted the opening goal in the 2-0 win over Austria earlier this month.
In other Tottenham news, boss Mauricio Pochettino has praised his striker and says he is raring to go.
