Anthony Martial has become the latest Manchester United player to be added to the injury list.

The Frenchman was due to start against FC Midtjylland in the Europa League and participated in the initial warm-ups before the game.

When the teams moved on to attacking drills however, Martial was nowhere to be seen.

United face the Danish side knowing that they must score after losing 2-1 in the first leg and they must now do it without Martial who joins fellow striker Wayne Rooney in the treatment room.

Marcus Rashford makes his senior debut at 18 in Martial’s absence and the news adds to Louis Van Gaal’s injury crisis.

Marcus Rashford: one of two teenage debutants against FC Midtjylland

The Dutchman has been forced to play two midfielders, Daley Blind and Michael Carrick, as his centre-backs against Midtjylland and give 19-year-old left-back Joe Riley his debut.

United face Arsenal on Sunday in a crucial game as the Gunners chase a title and the Red Devils attempt to hunt down the final Champions League spot.

Van Gaal’s side is currently six points off fourth and need to get something on Sunday if they want to have any chance of making up the ground.
