Ray Parlour claims Arsenal could make a sensational swoop for Harry Kane after a report claimed his contract talks with Tottenham had broken down.

The Sun claimed on Sunday evening that the 23-year-old striker faced an uncertain future in north London with discussions over a new deal being put on hold.

The report stated that there was interest from United alongside Chelsea and Manchester City in the England international.

Now former Arsenal midfielder Parlour believes that Gunners manager Arsene Wenger could eye a move for Kane.

The Spurs talisman was in the Arsenal academy from 2002 to 2004 and Parlour believes it may not be impossible for the Gunners to sign him.

“He did support Arsenal so…” Parlour told TalkSPORT, as reported by the Metro. “Have you ever seen that picture when we went unbeaten? We went on a bus tour in Islington and he had red and white hair. So who knows?”

Kane came through Arsenal’s academy ranks before he was released and picked up by their local rivals Tottenham and scored against the Gunners in the 1-1 draw last Sunday.

The striker has gone on to score 67 goals in 134 appearances for Spurs and was last season’s Premier League top goalscorer ahead of title winner Jamie Vardy.

In other Arsenal news, the Gunners are set to challenge Liverpool for the signature of this assist-master winger.
