Arsenal defender Marc Bola has signed a new contract, the club revealed on Thursday.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional deal at Emirates Stadium on the same day as fellow academy product Savvas Mourgo, whose deal was announced by the Londoners earlier on Thursday.
Bola has not only helped guide Arsenal Under-18s to the FA Youth Cup semi-finals this season, but has also made the step up to establish himself as a regular for the club’s Under-21s.
The London-born teenager, who signed a scholarship deal in the summer of 2014, can play at either left-back or centre-back, although he is regarded as more comfortable on the left side of the defence.
A statement on the club’s website read: “Everyone at Arsenal looks forward to Marc’s continued development with the club.”
Bola subsequently revealed his excitement over the new deal via his personal Twitter account.

Bola’s new deal comes as Arsenal plot a route into the first team for another graduate of their Hale End academy.
The latest Arsenal news is that the coaching staff believe Gedion Zelalem could become the club’s next Alex Iwobi, who has made the breakthrough over the last month.
