Arsenal are expected to name an unchanged side when they take on Manchester City on Sunday, despite suffering a late 2-1 defeat against Everton on Tuesday.

The Gunners conceded a late goal from Ashley Williams at Goodison Park which meant they dropped to third in the Premier League table after Liverpool picked up three points against Middlesbrough.

Shkodran Mustafi’s injury has given Gabriel an opportunity to extend his run in the side, playing at centre-back after previously covering for Hector Bellerin at right-back.

The 21-year-old has returned from injury now and is expected to retain his place in the full-back role, while Laurent Koscielny and Nacho Monreal complete the defence.

Alexis Sanchez is set to start up front after his sensational form for Arsenal continues, having a hand in 28 goals in his last 27 Premier League appearances (19 goals, nine assists.)

Giroud will still be hoping for a run in the side but the striker will have to look to make an impact from the bench with the Chilean in such red hot form.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott are also expected to retain their places in attack, though Lucas Perez and Alex Iwobi continue to provide strong competition.

Mesut Ozil should take up his usual role as the number 10, while Petr Cech is the obvious number one choice in goal.

Arsene Wenger has opted to use Granit Xhaka in midfield ahead of Mohammed Elneny and Aaron Ramsey in recent weeks so he should select the summer signing again when they face Manchester City. He’s likely to line-up alongside Francis Coquelin.

In other Arsenal news, this 26-year-old faces a battle to regain his place in the first team.
