Jack Wilshire could be sent out on loan from Arsenal and the club’s fans have reacted furiously on Twitter.
Sky Sports claimed on their transfer centre blog on Monday night (10.27pm) that manager Arsene Wenger will sanction the temporary exit of the club talisman.
It is a sensational move given Wilshere’s status at boyhood club Arsenal and his long-held reputation as one of Europe’s outstanding young players.
Wilshere, 24, has an extensive injury record starting back in 2009 when he suffered the first of many serious ankle injuries.
Despite having a minor knee injury in pre-season, Wilshere has recovered to be on the substitute’s bench for each of Arsenal’s three Premier League matches this season.
The Arsenal fans have been left baffled on Twitter over the news that the England man could be about to leave the club.
Here are a selection of the messages:

Didn’t expect Jack Wilshere to be leaving Arsenal, even if it is on loan. This whole transfer window has been mental.

The transfer window shuts on Wednesday which does not allow much time for Wilshere to find a new club although it is expected their will be several teams interested.
Wilshere was left out of Sam Alladryce’s first England squad on Sunday and a potential loan away from Arsenal has capped a disappointing few days for the midfielder.
He has played 37 minutes, including the last 20 of Saturday’s 3-1 win at Watford, but has slipped behind Granit Xhaka, Santi Cazorla, Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny and Aaron Ramsey in the pecking order for central midfield places at Emirates Stadium.
With Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Alex Iwobi ahead of him in the battle for the attacking midfield slots, Wishere is now concerned about a lack of opportunities.
The former Bolton loanee has been sidelined throughout his career for 890 days, missing out on 154 matches for the Gunners.
In other Arsenal transfer news, a club director has given an emphatic response after interest for a midfielder.
