Carl Jenkinson played just over an hour for Arsenal Under-23s in his return to action after a nine-month injury lay-off- and fans on Twitter welcomed back the defender.
The 24-year-old continued his rehabilitation back to action by helping the Arsenal youngsters settle for a point against Southampton in the Premier League two on Friday evening with a 0-0 draw.
Right-back Jenkinson suffered a knee injury in January while on loan with Premier League rivals West Ham last season.
One supporter was glad to see the former Hammers loanee back in action, but stated it does not mean he wants him in the team.
While another fan was pleased to see Jenkinson back in a Gunners shirt, as he feels he wears it with pride and passion.
One supporter even joked that the north London club will sell regular right-back Hector Bellerin for £25 million and Jenkinson would seemingly fit straight back into the team.
Overall supporters were pleased to see the full-back make a return to competitive action, following his nine-month lay-off.
Here is a selection of messages from Arsenal supporters reacting to Jenkinson’s return to competitive football:
Glad to see Jenkinson back fit but doesn’t mean I want to see him back in the team. We’ve moved onwards and upwards since he’s been away.
