Mesut Ozil was named in the starting XI for Arsenal to take on Tottenham at the Emirates- and fans on Twitter were pleased with his inclusion.
The 28-year-old playmaker will take to the field for Arsene Wenger’s side early on Sunday afternoon as he looks to continue his recent scoring form.
Ozil scored a magnificent solo effort at Ludogorets on Tuesday night with his late winner securing Arsenal’s passage into the last-16 of the Champions League.
But the German will now turn his attention to domestic matters as unbeaten Spurs take on their rivals in a north London derby.
Supporters praised manager Wenger for picking a strong starting XI and for boasting really equipped bench too.
Fans were hoping the Gunners could continue their recent run, but most importantly end Spurs’ unbeaten record this season.
Nonetheless, one supporter predicted that Tottenham have decided to field Eric Dier in front of the back four to stop Ozil causing problems to their defence as Jan Vertonghen and Kevin Wimmer start at the heart of defence.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Love that XI. Glad we've stuck with Alexis up front. Really strong bench.

Poch has shifted Dier back out the back 4 to have a screen of him and Wanyama. All about stopping Ozil. That's why Xhaka starts imo.

This season Ozil has been in fine goal scoring form netting seven goals in 13 Premier League and Champions League encounters.
The 2014 World Cup winner usually boasts a better assist ratio, but he has supplied only three goals this term.
A win for Arsenal would take them top of the Premier League table on 26 points, but a victory for Spurs would mean they would go level with the Gunners going into the international break.
In other Arsenal team news, Alan Shearer believes these four Tottenham midfielders need to step up ahead of the north London derby.
