Arsenal went top of the Premier League as they beat Sunderland 4-1 at the Stadium of Light, and fans on Twitter have urged the team to keep their run going.

Arsene Wenger’s side picked up a valuable three points in the early kick-off of the weekend, with Manchester City and Liverpool still to play.

It means the north London club are on 23 points from ten games, three points ahead of City and Liverpool, with the Gunners having a better goal difference.

A brace from Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud helped Arsenal thrash lowly Sunderland, who are yet to register three points this season, and they sit rock bottom.

Sanchez opened the scoring, but the hosts pulled one back through the penalty spot on the hour mark. Giroud came off the bench to score a brace, before Sanchez rounded off a brilliant afternoon for the visitors.

To the elation of the Arsenal supporters, it means they are clear at the top of the table.
