Alex Iwobi marked his full Premier League debut with an outstanding goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 win at Everton – and their supporters are getting somewhat excited about the latest young gun to emerge from the ranks.
The 19-year-old attacking midfielder, who impressed in the Gunners’ 3-1 midweek defeat to Barcelona in the Champions League, once again got the nod to start ahead of senior forward trio Olivier Giroud, Theo Walcott and Joel Campbell.
Deployed on the right flank, Iwobi dovetailed superbly with Mesut Ozil and Danny Welbeck, who put Arsenal 1-0 up with a slick finish following an outstanding passing move.
Iwoibi, who was starting just his sixth match for Arsenal and only the second in either the Premier League or Champions League, impressed supporters on Twitter with his performance.
The partnership of Iwobi-Welbeck most crucial going forward. They can create for fun. Keep them in from the start. #afc

We had a great balance having Iwobi wide. The possession winger we needed. He has qualities other options don’t have.

Iwobi has been dynamite in the past 2 games. He would have gotten into that #Barca side on Wednesday & today, he was imperious at Goodison.

Alex Iwobi goes from strength to strength, excellent boost for the team at this stage. Could spell the end for Walcott’s #Arsenal career.
