Theo Walcott suffered a disappointing night in front of goal for England as they drew 0-0 with Slovenia – and Arsenal fans on Twitter claimed he had reverted to type.
Forward Walcott was replaced just after the hour mark by Crystal Palace winger Andros Townsend, after a poor performance from Gareth Southgate’s side.
Following their 2-0 win over Malta on Saturday, England were thankful to a superb display from Joe Hart to enable them to leave Slovenia with a point from the World Cup qualifier.
Despite Walcott’s impressive club form this term, fans felt the Gunners attacker was back to his same old ways.
One fan stated that it is now two poor performances from Walcott, after he started in the win over lowly Malta at the weekend.
Supporters were even more critical of the former Southampton academy graduate, by saying he has not improved over the last ten years.
Here is a selection of messages on Twitter from Arsenal supporters reacting to Walcott’s performance:
Walcott off. Have to say two very poor performances in international break for Theo. Been on form for #afc with better players around him.

Walcott has been awful too. Every year from Arsenal fans we hear "there's something different about him." No, there isn't.

@Jack_Millwall Only time in years you can justify playing Walcott. He's on fire for Arsenal. Antonio should be walking in that team.

Walcott works well at #AFC bc Alexis is playing as a false 9, creating space for his diagonal runs. If you don't do this, don't play him!

Walcott has been in impressive form for Arsene Wenger’s side this term, scoring three goals in seven games this season.
He made a return to the national set-up in September, after being left out by then-England manager Roy Hodgson for the 2016 European Championships.
In other Arsenal team news, Alex Iwobi has revealed this Gunners attacker is always late for training.
