Theo Walcott was absent from Arsenal’s squad to face Sunderland due to injury and fans on Twitter believe their annual injury crisis has begun.
In-form forward Walcott was not named in the 18-man squad selected by manager Arsene Wenger, as they take on David Moyes’ rock-bottom Black Cats at the Stadium of Light.
The England international has been in blistering form this season, scoring eight goals in 11 Premier League and Champions League appearances.
Despite striker Olivier Giroud returning to the bench, fans were disappointed to see Walcott missing out, as he joins Santi Cazorla, Nacho Monreal and Danny Welbeck on the injury list.
This gave fans the sense of the usual injury crisis happening again at the club, during an important time of the season, as they look to stamp their authority on the Premier League.
Other supporters stated that this is the opportunity for winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to impress and showcase why he deserves a regular spot in the first-team.
