Arsenal have been given a boost in their pursuit of Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette – and Gunners fans are desperate for their club to seal the deal.

The Gunners have been keen to bring a striker to the Emirates this summer and the north London side have already had a bid of £29.5million rejected by the Ligue 1 giants for Lacazette.

But Lyon manager Bruno Genesio has given the strongest indication yet that the striker could be on the move this summer after admitting that some offers can’t be refused, as quoted by the Mirror.

Arsenal fans are virtually unanimous on Twitter that the Frenchman would be a brilliant addition to the squad.

Reports suggest that Arsenal had not submitted an improve £40million bid for the attacker despite speculation.

Lacazette was in fine form last season for current club Lyon, scoring 23 goals in his 44 appearances to help guide them to Champions League qualification.

The forward has only played for Lyon at senior level since his debut in 2010, and he has been regularly linked with a move away from the seven-time league winners since rising to prominence.

The Ligue 1 Player of the Year for 204-15 has made 10 appearances for his national side, but he was not selected for the French Euro 2016 squad which reached the final in their home country.

In other Arsenal transfer news, they have lodged a formal bid for a German international defender.
