Serge Gnabry started in an attacking three for Germany against San Marino and Arsenal fans took to Twitter to criticise the decision to let him leave the club in the summer.

The 21-year-old attacker stunned the San Marino defence with a hat-trick in his country’s 8-0 victory in San Marino.

Three goals from Gnabry alongside a Jonas Hector double and goals from Sami Khedira, Kevin Volland and a Mattia Stefanelli own goal ensured an emphatic victory for Joachim Low’s side.

A number of Gunners fans took to social media following Gnabry’s display to comment on the decision to let the young bright prospect leave.

Here are a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Gnabry left the Emirates stadium in the summer in a move to the Bundesliga with Werder Bremen in a lowly £5million deal.

He has been an instant success in Germany scoring four goals and providing one assist in nine encounters, which saw him called up to the German senior side for the first time.

However, despite the loss of one of their bright prospects Arsenal are enjoying one of their best season’s in recent times as they sit in fourth place with 24 points and two points off of league leaders Liverpool.

In other Arsenal news, Martin Keown believes this Gunners defender needs to be more confident.
