Arsenal could face a battle with the Premier League’s biggest and richest for forward Antoine Griezmann, according to a report.
The Daily Star have claimed that the Gunners are keen on the Atletico Madrid ace, while Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea are also interested in the attacker.
It is even stated in the report that bidding for the France international could reach as high as £80million next year, which is double what Arsenal paid for record signing Mesut Ozil.
Griezmann, 25, parted company with his agents recently and the striker will now handle future deals himself, alongside his father Alain and trusted aide Eric Olhats.
Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone has also recently signed a new deal reducing his contract length and the Argentine manager’s now expected departure could play a part in Griezmann exiting the club.
Griezmann still has five years left on his current deal at the La Liga side.
The 34-time capped international has started the new campaign in impressive form after being named as the Euro 2016 player of the tournament.
The striker has bagged four goals from his opening four appearances for the club, with Atletico currently perched in fourth place with two wins and two draws from their opening fixtures.
In other Arsenal transfer news, Manchester City are plotting a stunning move for Gunners forward Alexis Sanchez.
