Aaron Ramsey will probably not be risked for Arsenal’s clash against Southampton on Saturday, but Alex Iwobi is set to return to boost his side’s attacking options, according to a report.
Midfielder Ramsey suffered a thigh injury after the club’s 4-3 defeat against Liverpool on the opening day of the season.
The Telegraph report that Arsene Wenger is unlikely to risk the Welshman, with an important fixtures against Paris St-Germain next Tuesday.
The Frenchman has been boosted with the return of youngster Iwobi, and Wenger has the option of selecting £35million signing Shkodran Mustafi in defence and £17.1million striker Lucas Perez.
It is said Mustafi has a good chance of making his debut alongside Laurent Koscielny at the Emirates this weekend.
Striker Olivier Giroud could also reclaim his starting place, with Alexis Sanchez likely reverting back to his familiar position on the left side of attack, and Perez being introduced from the bench.
Arsenal picked up their first win of the 2016/17 Premier League season before the international break, when the Gunners beat Watford 3-1 at Vicarage Road.
Wenger’s side have picked up four points after three games, with one loss, one draw and one win.
In other Arsenal team news, this defender has won the player of the month award, the club’s summer signing is second.
