Jack Wilshere, Danny Welbeck and Francis Coquelin are back on the training pitch as they step up their comebacks, Football Insider sources understand.

But the Arsenal trio are weeks away from making first-team returns after lengthy periods on the sidelines.

An Arsenal source has told Football Insider that Wilshere, Welbeck and Coquelin have all begun doing light outdoor work with fitness coach Tony Colbert.

They are undertaking jogging sessions under the eye of Colbert as well as doing intensive rehabilitation work in the gym at the club’s London Colney training headquarters.

It is likely to be weeks before they are given the green light by Arsene Wenger and his staff to return to full training with the rest of the squad.

Wenger has said he is hopeful that Wilshere and Welbeck, who have both been sidelined for the entire season with shin and knee injuries respectively, will return to the team by the end of February.

The Gunners manager has predicted that Coquelin, who has been out since November with knee ligament damage, will be back by early March.
