Arsenal are closely pursuing emerging German defensive star Lukas Klostermann, according to a report.
German newspaper Bild claim that the Gunners are “hot” on the versatile 20-year-old, who can play anywhere across the back four.
It is said that Arsene Wenger’s side have made clear their interest in Klostermann, who plays for newly promoted Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.
The former VFL Bochum defender is also interesting the Gunners’ north London rivals Tottenham and Italian champions Juventus.
Klostermann, who has two years remaining on his deal with Leipzig, was part of the side that gained promotion to the Bundesliga last season.
he made 31 appearances in all competitions as Die Bullen finished second, and also has five Germany under-21 caps to his name.
The defender has also interested Dutch giants Ajax in recent times but Wenger has made clear his intention to sign a new centre-back after losing Per Mertesacker to a knee injury until the new year.
Klostermann has been part of Germany’s Olympic side that have so far drawn with Mexico and South Korea in Brazil, as his country faces a fight to progress to the knockout stages.
