Arsenal are set to miss out on Julian Draxler as French giants PSG are swooping in with a mega offer in the final days of the window, according to a report.

The Sun claim that the French champions are set to lodge a £64million bid for the services of the Germany international, who had been tracked by Arsene Wenger this summer.

Football website Transfer Market Web claimed earlier this month that Arsenal had reignited their interest in the 22-year-old playmaker with a £43million offer.

But the Sun report that PSG are set to win the race for Draxler before Wednesday’s transfer cut-off.

It is said that Draxler will move away from the Bundesliga, as he follows striker Bas Dost out the of exit door after the striker joined Sporting Lisbon on Sunday.

Draxler played in Wolfsburg’s 2-0 win over Augsburg at the weekend while PSG slumped to their first league defeat since March in a 3-1 loss to Monaco.

Despite his age, the wide forward already has a World Cup Winners medal to his name and he was also named in the Bundesliga ‘Team of the Season’ for the 2013-14 campaign.

The deal would represent a fantastic piece of business for Wolfsburg after spending just £31m on the player last summer, as they could see that figure more than doubled.

PSG meet Arsenal in this season’s Uefa Champions League group stage and Draxler will get a chance to show Wenger why he should have signed him on September 13th, in their first clash of the group.

Draxler can operate anywhere behind the striker, but was also used in the number nine role for parts of Euro 2016 for German coach Jochim Low.

The German has two international goals in 24 caps and has 23 goals and 24 assists in his Bundesliga career so far.

In other Arsenal transfer news, the Gunners have reached an agreement over the transfer of this England international.
