Hector Bellerin tweeted a message to his former Barcelona academy graduate, Adama Traore after the winger faced Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.
Traore lined up against Bellerin as Middlesbrough produced an assured display to secure a point against Bellerin’s Arsenal side.
The right-back tweeted an image of the duo in an embrace following the 0-0 draw and paid homage to their time at Barcelona and their career paths which have brought them both to the Premier League.
Prior to the Middlesbrough clash, Arsenal had been on a winning streak, claiming all the goods in their last seven matches in all competitions.
Middlesbrough were the unlikeliest of teams to break the record but Bellerin still had time to reflect on where his career had taken him and his former teammate in recent years.
The duo worked together while at Barcelona as Bellerin and Traore spent their childhood with the famous Catalan academy.
The 21 year-old has become a regular at Arsenal, making 12 appearances already this season but has been involved in plenty of speculation on a possible return to the Nou Camp.
The Spanish full-back’s roots very much lie at Barcelona and Arsenal could face a battle to keep hold of him at the end of the season.
