Arsenal players took to social media after their impressive 3-2 comeback win against Ludogorets in the Champions League on Tuesday night.
Mesut Ozil completed a fantastic comeback for Arsenal in the Champions League against Ludogorets with a fantastic winner in the 87th minute.
Ozil timed his run to perfection and was sent clear on goal. Instead of rushing Ozil chipped the ball over the keeper and then used his skill to put two defenders on the ground before slotting home.
Arsenal have now qualified for the last 16 of the Champions League and their star players took to Instagram to celebrate ahead of the north London derby with Tottenham on Sunday.
Granit Xhaka, scorer of Arsenal’s first goal after they had gone two down said, “This is a huge night for us.”
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain said, “Great togetherness to come back and take all 3 points tonight!”
Summer signing Shkodran Mustafi also pointed to the character of the Arsenal team saying, “Yesss! Great comeback and mentality after that start.”
The players now turn their attention to another huge game for Arsenal, against Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Arsenal are unbeaten since the opening day of the season against Liverpool, and a win against their rivals – for the first time in the league since Mauricio Pochettino took over at Spurs – would be a huge statement of their title intent.
Arsenal fans were given a scare ahead of the game with the news that Hector Bellerin has been added to the list of Arsenal injured after he suffered what Wenger called “a little incident in the last minute of training,”
The news was confirmed on the official Arsenal website on Monday evening. Fans will be hoping he recovers to take his place on the right of an impressive Arsenal defence.
