Aston Villa academy graduate Andre Green has expressed his delight on Twitter after the England Under-19s secured a last-gasp win against Bulgaria on Monday night.

Forward Green, who participated in the 3-1 friendly win over Croatia in July, played 60 minutes as the England youngsters secured a 2-1 win against Bulgaria on Monday night.

Tottenham starlet Marcus Edwards opened the scoring in the first half, before Chelsea defender Dujon Sterling netted a last-gasp winner at Adams Park.

Green, who was replaced by Sterling on the hour mark, was delighted with the work by his England teammates, as he now put his focus on club duties.

“Good week away with England,” Green wrote on his personal Twitter account. “Two wins in two also back to hard work with Aston Villa.”

Green has made four appearances for Keith Downing’s side, but is yet to provide an assist or score a goal.

The youngster has made sporadic first-team appearances for his club side this term, including playing 90 minutes in the 3-1 defeat to fourth-tier side Luton Town in August.

The senior side take on Wolves at Villa Park on Saturday, with caretaker boss Steve Clarke in charge of first-team duties, following the sacking of Roberto Di Matteo.

In the latest Aston Villa team news, this Premier League manager is not in the running to take over the reigns at Villa Park.
