Jack Grealish could return for Aston Villa in their Tuesday night trip to Barnsley, after the midfielder missed the 1-1 draw with Newcastle on Saturday due to a club suspension.
Roberto Di Matteo’s side travel to south-Yorkshire looking for their first league win since August, after leaving it late at the weekend to register their sixth draw of the season.
The Italian is likely to make two changes to his side, with Albert Adomah and Nathan Baker making way for Jack Grealish and Aaron Tshibola.
Grealish might start on the left for Di Matteo’s side in place of Adomah, with Jordan Ayew switching to the right in what is likely to be a 4-3-3 formation from the Italian.
Midfielder Tshibola, who scored his first goal for Villa from the substitute’s bench against Newcastle could start in place of Baker in a midfield three of Westwood, Jedinak and Tshibola.
Jonathan Kodjia is expected to continue his duties up front, after his impressive second-half display against Newcastle.
Additionally, Di Matteo is likely to revert to a back four of Jordan Amavi, Tommy Elphick, James Chester and Leandro Bacuna.
Captain Elphick is expected to lead the line, despite scoring an own goal in his side’s previous league game.
Villa sit in 17th position in the Championship table, with just nine points from their opening nine encounters.
In contrast Paul Heckingbottom’s Barnsley have picked up five wins from their nine games, as they sit in seventh with 15 points to their name.
