Aston Villa fans on Twitter believe they have pulled off the signing of the summer after it was confirmed that Mile Jedinak has signed a three-year deal with the club.

It was announced on Wednesday afternoon by the club’s official Twitter account that the midfielder has made a switch from the Premier League club to the Championship.

Jedinak, 32 has become the club’s sixth summer signing, with supporters overjoyed that the spine of their team is now complete.

The Midlands side have signed James Chester, Ross McCormack, Pierluigi Gollini, Aaron Tshibola and Tommy Elphick on long-term contracts, with supporters praising the work of Roberto Di Matteo and Tony Xia this summer.

Fans pointed out the 32-year-old’s strengths citing his leadership qualities and promotion-winning experience with Palace in the 2012-13 season, when the Australian was named the club’s player of the year.

One Palace fans expressed his disappointment at his departure stating that Villa have signed a player that puts his “heart and soul” into every game.

Jedinak will now compete for a first-team spot with Ashley Westwood, Gary Gardner and Aaron Tshibola, with all three featuring so far this season.

But the combative midfielder will be unavailable for selection until his registration with the FA and English Football League is complete.
