Aston Villa’s £12 million summer signing Ross McCormack scored his first goal for the club in his sides Championship clash against Huddersfield on Tuesday night- and fans were hoping his goal was the first of many.
McCormack headed home Villa’s opener in the 24th minute, after Leandro Bacuna’s cross was magnificently controlled by Jack Grealish at the far post, who then fortunately looped it up for the Scottish International to score his first for the club.
Many questioned whether Grealish meant the assist, but supporters were not fussed as Villa took an early lead in the first half.
One fan stated that it may have been a scruffy goal from McCormack, but they all count and result in a win for Villa.
McCormack has started in his sides two opening Championship fixtures this season, but failed to find the net as supporters now hope he can match his 21-goal tally he reached with Fulham last season.
Here is McCormack being mobbed by his teammates after scoring his first goal and fans reaction.
