Jordan Ayew may have played his last game for Aston Villa – and fans on Twitter have stated that they would happily see the attacker leave.
The Birmingham Mail claim that the 25-year-old may be tempted into a big-money move to China during the January transfer window – and reports that Shanghai SIPG have already registered interest in the player.
Ayew is currently away on international duty with Ghana where he is set to compete in the Africa Cup of Nations which starts on January 14.
Villa fans on Twitter stated that they would sell Ayew this month as he has not lived up to expectations in the Championship.
He has scored just two goals and supplied four assists in 21 second tier games this term and last featured for his side during their 1-1 draw against Leeds over the festive period.
Supporters believe they will not miss Ayew’s presence in the team if he were to leave because he has not offered much going forward.
Overall, the Villa Park faithful were in agreement that if a big-money offer came in for their player then they should sell and re-invest the funds.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Seems like Jordan Ayew has carefully treaded a fine line between staying marketable and becoming dispensable from AVFC perspective. #avfc

If a 25 mil pound bid comes in for Ayew from China I would personally be willing to help him with his luggage #AVFC

Would be perfectly happy with Ayew leaving. Had high hopes for him in the Championship but he's been largely disappointing #avfc

If Ayew fancies a move to China, I think I'd sell him. He has some quality but not a team player, and they'd offer great money #avfc

I love Ayew and would wish him well. It's just not worked for him in the championship, will be numerous reasons for this. 1/2 #AVFC
