Mile Jedinak completed 90 minutes against Birmingham on Sunday – and Aston Villa fans were thrilled with his performance on Twitter.

Villa earned a 1-1 away draw with their fierce Midlands rivals in the Championship and moved up to 15th in the table with a point.

Gary Gardner gave the hosts the lead in the first-half with a powerful header into the top right corner from a Jordan Ayew free-kick.

David Davis scored an equaliser in the second-half and his shot took an unfortunate deflection off Jedinak to direct the ball into the net.

Steve Bruce has maintained his unbeaten start to his Villa career after four games as the club’s new manager.

Villa supporters were thoroughly impressed with the display of Jedinak despite his part in the goal conceded.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Jedinak, 32, moved to Villa Park in the summer from Crystal Palace and has become a crucial part of the side under Bruce.

The Australian central midfielder has a wealth of top-flight experience and made 179 appearances for Palace.

Villa endured a difficult start to the season and the club decided to sack Roberto Di Matteo as manager, but they are expected to climb the table and pursue a play-off position.
