Aston Villa midfielder Carles Gil sealed a one-year loan deal to Spanish outfit Deportivo de La Coruña, the club confirmed on Friday afternoon.

Villa supporters reacted with mixed views on his departure. The 23-year-old struggled for consistent game time at Villa Park, with only 28 appearances to his name since his move from La Liga giants Valencia, for a fee of £3.2 million in January 2015
However, many fans felt his technical ability was his standout attribute, but he was unable to display this consistently due to lack of games and lack of physicality.
As the Midlands outfit prepare for the forthcoming Championship season, one supporter felt that the tricky Spaniard could have been the player to unlock defences in what will undoubtedly be a difficult season.
Here are the reactions of the supporters on Twitter.

Gutted to hear Carles Gil has gone… Right up there with Mark Draper in #avfc legend status in my warped mind

#AVFC Carles Gil – 28 games, 2 goals (100% more than Agbonlahor admittedly), no loss, move on.

Carles Gil has so much talent and ability, but seems to have a bit of an attitude problem, which lets him down #avfc

Really don't get what people saw in Gil, a couple of special moments yeah, but he'd loose the ball way to easily, was a liability #avfc

Gil, a technically gifted player who hasn't got the bottle/strength to do it in England. He'll blend in abroad, won't be missed #AVFC
