Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor will travel with the squad to take on Birmingham City on Sunday afternoon, and fans on Twitter have responded with mixed views.
Steve Bruce revealed the 30-year-old asked to travel with his teammates for the highly-anticipated clash at St Andrews.
The boyhood Villa fan has not featured for the Midlands giants this season, after former manager Roberto Di Matteo opted to leave him out of his first-team plans.
But, since the appointment of promotion expert Bruce, the club’s longest serving player has been offered a clean slate and ordered to undertake a six-week fitness programme.
Some supporters have backed the club’s former captain to play at the weekend and score the winning goal in the Championship fixture.
But, there was a proportion of fans who do not want him to play and think his time is up at the Championship club.
One fan hailed Bruce for the job he is currently doing at Villa Park, but disagreed with him on his stance towards Agbonlahor.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Steve Bruce has been brilliant since he came in – a breath of fresh air.
However, I don't agree with his stance on Agbonlahor at all. #AVFC

@JamesNursey Agbonlahor has simply never been great – even in his best times – his record as a striker is abysmal. Mention that.

Agbonlahor has scored four goals in eight appearances against the Blues, and has been on the winning side on six occasions.
In other Aston Villa team news, the club have received a blow, as this senior duo are ruled out of the Birmingham clash.
