Aston Villa fans are beginning to believe again as Mile Jedinak is set to sign for the club within the next 48 hours, it was announced on Sunday afternoon.

The Telegraph Midlands reporter John Percy has claimed on his personal Twitter account that the Crystal Palace midfielder is in line to make a move from the Premier League to the Championship club.

Transfer expert Percy also states that Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford could join Villa on loan.

The Villa Park faithful praised the club’s senior men for looking to bring in another “leader” within the squad, after last seasons dismal displays which led to the club’s relegation.

Roberto Di Matteo was praised for his summer recruits, in particular the signings of Ross McCormack and Tommy Elphick, both of who have strong leadership qualities.

One fan stated that Jedinak could be a replacement for Ashley Westwood, who started in his club’s 3-0 win over Rotherham on Saturday afternoon.

However, another fan pointed out that Villa still require another right-back and central attacking midfielder as they hope for instant promotion back to the Premier League.

Here is journalist Percy’s Tweet and fans reaction to his news.

Villa owner Tony Xia and manager Di Matteo have publicly spoken about strengthening the squad after a poor start to their season.

Australian Jedinak, 32 dropped a hint he is on his way to Villa Park when he threw his Palace shirt to supporters after their 1-0 Premier League defeat to West Brom.

The combative midfielder played 90 minutes for the London club and is now set for a move to the Midlands.

In other Aston Villa transfer news, the club have been given fresh hope in their pursuit of this £14.5 million rated Serie A wonderkid.
