Kieran Richardson is being linked with a move to Cardiff – and the Aston Villa fans have reacted on Twitter to the news.
Cardiff have announced the signings of Junior Hoilett, Sol Bamba and Marouane Chamakh in the past two days and former Villa defender Richardson is believed to be the next player to join.
The left-back could move to Cardiff after manager Neil Warnock revealed he had ben in contact with four players, cited by Wales Online.
Cardiff are currently stuck in the relegation places and are trying to improve their squad and former England international Richardson could be the solution.
Richardson, 31, is currently a free agent after leaving Villa Park in the summer.
The Midlands club decided not to offer him a new contract and he has been linked with clubs such as Leeds and Torino.
Villa supporters have taken to Twitter to mock Richardson and feel he wasn’t good enough for the club.
Here are a selection of the messages:
Richardson was a fringe player for Villa last season and couldn’t help the club avoid relegation to the Championship.
The defender made just 15 appearances last campaign and struggled to cement his starting position during his two-year stay.
His most consistent spell was at Sunderland, making 149 appearances for the Black Cats.
Richardson developed through the Manchester United academy and also made 75 appearances for their first-team.
In other Aston Villa news, a former England international has rejected a role at the club.
