Aston Villa forward Jordan Ayew is a top target for Greek side Olympiacos, according to a report.
Greek news outlet Sport24 have claimed that the Greek Super League outfit have turned their attention to the 24-year-old Villa Park attacker.
The 43-time league winners were set to bring in Oscar Cardozo for a medical from Turkish side Trabzonspor, but the move has now stalled and the club are now looking to securing a deal for Ayew.
It is claimed that Olympiacos have done their homework on Ayew and they they believe he will be available in the loan market.
The Ghana international only moved to Villa Park last summer in an £8million deal, but he was unable to prevent the long standing Premier League side from suffering relegation in the last campaign.
Ayew finished as the club’s top scorer last season with seven goals in 36 appearances in all competitions.
The Villa attacker has started all six of Roberto Di Matteo’s games in charge of the club in the new campaign with a return of one goal in the EFL Cup against Luton.
Ayew started upfront alongside new signing Ross McCormack against Bristol City on Saturday with Rudy Gestede currently out with a hamstring injury.
The Villa Park side are looking to bring in another attacker before Wednesday’s deadline and they have been linked with a mega-money move for Hull’s striker Abel Hernandez.
In other Aston Villa transfer news, the club have been told that Hull striker Abel Hernandez could join them if they adjust their figures in their £20million offer.
