Gabby Agbonlahor produced a poor display as Aston Villa were beaten 1-0 at Norwich – and fans on Twitter were fuming with his performance.

Striker Nelson Oliveira’s long-range effort was the only goal of the game as the Midlands side produced a mediocre display at Carrow Road on Tuesday night.

Agbonlahor, who was substituted after 72 minutes, started only his second game for the club after Steve Bruce brought him back into the first-team setup this season.

The 30-year-old was left out in the cold by Bruce’s predecessor, Roberto Di Matteo, but following the arrival of the former Manchester United defender in mid-October, Agbonlahor has played six games under the promotion expert.

But it is fair to say supporters on Social Media were not pleased with his contribution to the game as they criticised Bruce for selecting the senior player.

Fans stated that the club’s longest serving player is now finished and that he has lost the limited ability he had.

Additionally supporters believe Bruce has got the team selection wrong for their previous two away games.

Fans urged the Villa hierarchy to get rid of the forward in January as they were also critical of Ashley Westwood’s performance.

Villa travel to London on Sunday afternoon when they take on Ian Holloway’s QPR at Loftus Road.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

In other Aston Villa news, this first-team player must be sold in January after another poor display.
