Aston Villa goalkeeper Jed Steer is thought to have suffered a ruptured Achilles in training which could rule him out for the rest of the season – and fans on Twitter have wished him a speedy recovery.
The Birmingham Mail claim Villa’s understudy keeper faces a lengthy spells on the sidelines after sustaining the injury this week.
Supporters backed the 24-year-old and wished him well on what will be a tough road to recovery.
Fans singled out his outstanding appearances for the club’s under-23s side as they stated that they would like to see him back on the Villa Park pitch as soon as possible.
There is no surprise that the majority of Villa supporters were gutted for the youngster, but others did question who he was.

The former England under-19 international was signed by former boss Paul Lambert in 2013, but Steer has gone on to play only four senior games since.
He has had loan spells at the likes of Doncaster and Huddersfield Town in between those limited appearances, with his last game for his parent club against Burnley in the 2014/15 Premier League season.
