Guillem Balague has revealed that he would like to see Tottenham’s Harry Winks move to Barcelona or Real Madrid in the future.
Winks, 21, broke into Mauricio Pochettino’s side this season and was an integral member of the team before suffering a serious ankle injury in April that ended his season prematurely.
Balague revealed that he does not expect the Spurs academy product to leave the club in the near future, but named the midfielder as the one player he would like to see join the two La Liga giants.
“If this is a question of preference rather than likelihood then I would like to see a player like Harry Winks in La Liga, where he would be challenged in a different ways,” Balague said, as quoted by Sky Sports Transfer Centre (Friday, 1.58pm).
“He has the makings of a top midfielder. I know he will play a lot at Spurs and won’t go but I would love to see him at Barcelona or Real Madrid, even though he will be a key feature at Spurs for years to come.”
Tottenham’s number 29 has burst onto the scene in the middle of the park and is known for his driving runs from deep, array of passing and willingness to put his body on the line.
However, Sky Sports pundit Balague claimed he would like to see Winks in Spain more so than the likes of Eriksen, Alli or any other of Spurs’ stars.
Spurs’ academy graduate Winks has made 33 league and cup appearances this season, and even scored his first goal in a 3-2 win over London rivals West Ham.
But a move is unlikely, with the England Under-21 international contracted at Tottenham until the summer of 2022 after signing a new deal earlier in the season.
