Barcelona right-back Aleix Vidal would be the perfect signing for Manchester United in the January transfer window.
The Catalan club are believed to be looking to let Vidal leave in January, and United should jump at the opportunity to strengthen a problem position in their team.
Spanish website Marca claim Vidal’s Barca future is shrouded in doubt and, with Matteo Darmain likely to leave Old Trafford, Jose Mourinho is likely to be looking for a suitable replacement.
The former Sevilla full-back could be just the answer as the Premier League giants aim to beef up their squad in the second half of the season.
Vidal made his Barcelona debut in January 2016 but he’s struggled to make a break through into the first team and only has a handful of appearances under Luis Enrique.
Nevertheless, the 27-year-old has undoubted pedigree and would not only provide Mourinho with a better player in a key position but could enable them to push on with their title challenge and even win the league.
Manchester United have deployed Antonio Valencia at right-back so far this season but with Darmain linked with a move to Serie A in January, they’ll need to find a replacement.
Vidal has played just 16 matches for Barcelona so will be hoping to get more game time elsewhere and Mourinho could offer him that.
However, whether Barcelona will be happy to do business with their former rival is yet to be seen.
In other Manchester United news, former Liverpool defender says he thinks Mourinho’s side could win the Premier League despite shaky start.
