Rangers are strong odds favourites to re-sign striker Steven Naismith, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the Scottish giants at 7/4 to land the Norwich front man, 30, before the summer transfer window shuts.
The betting company have made Rangers favourites ahead of relegated Premier League clubs Sunderland, who are priced 7/2, and Hull City, who are a more distant 9/1.
The strong likelihood of the 45-times Scotland international moving back to Ibrox five years after his exit comes as the club prepare to make what are expected to be substantial changes to their front line this summer.
Naismith has two years remaining on the Norwich contract that he signed when he joined from Everton in January of last year for a fee of £9million.
Naismith spent five years at Ibrox from 2007 to 2012, scoring 33 goals and supplying 30 assists during 132 appearances in all competitions.
He joined Everton on a free transfer when Rangers went into administration and made a big impression for the Premier League club, scoring 26 goals in 123 matches, including a memorable hat-trick against Chelsea.
The Daily Express claims that Naismith would be open to a return to Ibrox this summer despite being a mainstay for Norwich this season.
The Scot has featured 32 times in all competitions for the Championship outfit, scoring seven goals and supplying three assists.
In other Rangers transfer news, rivals have stepped aside to clear the path for Caixinha to sign a World Cup ace.
