Manchester City are hot favourites to sign Kyle Walker from Tottenham this summer, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.
Sky Bet have priced the cash-rich Manchester club at 11/10 to land the Spurs star before the transfer window closes on 3 September.
The betting company regard the possibility of Walker joining City almost as likely as him staying at Tottenham, which is priced at 4/6.
His odds tumbled on Thursday after the right-back was priced at 4/1 to make the move to Pep Guardiola’s side earlier this week.
Top-flight rivals Manchester United and Chelsea trail a long way behind in the betting to land Walker at 16/1 and 20/1 respectively.
Manchester City’s odds follow on from a report from the Manchester Evening News suggesting that Guardiola wanted to add more home-grown players to his squad, such as Spurs stars Danny Rose and Walker.
The England international duo have risen to Premier League stardom in this campaign due to their ability to roam up the pitch as well as defend to an impressive standard.
Walker, 26, has been at Tottenham since 2009 after joining alongside Kyle Naughton from Sheffield United for a combined fee of £9million.
Astonishingly, Naughton was considered the better of the two when they both joined, but the 28-year-old has since forged a career for himself at Swansea, while Walker has shone as Tottenham battle for the Premier League title.
