Steve Bruce has confirmed that Micah Richards and Leandro Bacuna will miss Aston Villa’s clash against Blackburn and Jack Grealish will return to the squad.
The Villa manager also stated that winger Albert Adomah will be fine to play on Saturday afternoon, despite coming off injured in the first-half against Birmingham last weekend.
Bruce will have winger Grealish available for the weekend clash at Villa Park after he completed a three-match suspension for violent conduct.
But the game comes too soon for defenders Richards and Bacuna, who missed the derby against Blues last weekend through injury.
“Albert Adomah will be okay, but Micah Richards will not make it,” Bruce told his Friday press conference, as posted by the club’s official Facebook Page. “For Leonardo Bacuna maybe it’s a little too early and Jack Grealish is okay, he is in the squad as well.”
Promotion expert Bruce is unbeaten in his first four games in charge of the Midlands club, picking up wins against Reading and Fulham.
Bruce has the difficult task of guiding the Villa Park club to instant promotion this season after taking over from the sacked Roberto Di Matteo in October.
Villa are 15th in the league table with 18 points from their 15 games as their opponents for the weekend are in the relegation zone on 13 points.
In other Aston Villa team news, manager Steve Bruce has revealed he is thinking of selecting Gabby Agbonlahor for the Blackburn game.
