Everton are going to have to fend off interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich for their star striker Romelu Lukaku, according to a report.
According to The Sun, Bayern Munich’s head of recruitment Michael Reschke was at the Etihad Stadium last Saturday to report back on the player.
Lukaku scored the opening goal in the match and Reschke was impressed enough to make the Belgian striker a prime target for the German team.
The Sun have reported that Bayern Munich will now spend the rest of the season keeping tabs on the 23-year-old striker ahead of a German record £65million bid for Everton’s star asset.
Lukaku wanted a move over the summer in his quest for Champions League football but, despite interest from several big clubs, he was convinced by manager Ronald Koeman to stay with Everton.
That came after Chelsea thought they would land the striker in a £65million plus Loic Remy deal.
Lukaku has started well this season, with six goals from seven Premier League appearances. He scored 18 goals in 37 Premier League goals last campaign.
In other Everton transfer news, Ronald Koeman has responded to speculation that Everton are going to make a fresh bid for Joe Hart.
