Rangers ace Niko Kranjcar is set to be out of action for six months, and most Celtic fans on Twitter had no sympathy with their rivals.
The Daily Record reports that the 32-year-old midfielder had his worst fears confirmed by a specialist on Tuesday, with the Croatian almost certain to miss the rest of the season.
Kranjcar will now go under the knife in London on Wednesday, with his season set to come to a crushing end due to cruciate ligament damage.
Unsurprisingly, the majority of Celtic supporters saw the funny side to the Gers player injury, as he only recently signed for the club from New York Cosmos in the summer.
His long-term absent means that Mark Warburton’s side have now lost two summer signings this season through various circumstances.
Midfielder Joey Barton has been suspended by the club, with his future at Ibrox looking increasing bleak, following a training ground incident in September.
Bhoys fans saw the amusing side to both stories, as Rangers will have to pay the duo their wages for the rest of the season, despite their absence.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Any player who suffers a cruciate injury has my sympathy.I hope Kranjcar has a speedy recovery.

Kranjcar's season is over. That's another player Rangers are forking big wages on that won't kick a ball again this season – after Barton.

Using 'the battle of the wounded knee' headline in reference to Kranjcar must be a new low for the newspaper, surely?

Kranjcar made 15 appearances in all competitions for Mark Warburton’s side, scoring three goals and supplying the same number of assists.
In other Rangers team news, supporters on Twitter urged Fran de Boer to return to Ibrox after he was sacked by Inter Millan.
