Kolo Toure has been dropped for Celtic’s clash against Rangers and fans on Twitter do not approve of manager Brendan Rodgers benching the experienced defender.

The Bhoys take on their arch enemies in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday afternoon at Hampden Park, in what is expected to be a fiery encounter.

Toure has played in 12 games in all competitions for the Glasgow club this season, but has been punished for his performance in midweek.

The former Premier League player was at fault for two of Borussia Monchengladbach’s goals in midweek, as Rodgers side suffered another European defeat.

Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Brendan Rodgers’ side humiliated their Glasgow counterparts 5-1 in their last league meeting in September, with striker Moussa Dembele netting a hat-trick.

However, Mark Warburton’s side will be hoping for a repeat of last season’s semi-final, when the Gers beat Celtic on penalties.

Fellow Scottish Premiership side Aberdeen await the winner of this contest for a final clash, after they beat Greenock Morton 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.

In other Celtic team news, Dean Windass has delivered this Twitter message as the Old Firm clash is set to kick-off at Hampden Park.
