On loan midfielder Ryan Christie scored a stunning chipped effort  from the edge of the box on Wednesday evening – and Celtic fans on Twitter were delighted.

The 21-year-old midfielder left the Hoops for Aberdeen in January and he played 80 minutes of their emphatic 7-2 victory over Motherwell.

The young starlet contributed with his side’s fourth goal in the win and it is fair to say that it was the standout goal from the match.

A number of Celtic fans on social media were clearly impressed with the goal and it left many as to wondering how he actually scored it.

Meanwhile, others simply applauded it.

Here are a selection of their messages on twitter:

Christie had played just seven times for Brendan Rodgers’ dominant Celtic team this season and he has gone out to second placed Aberdeen in search of more regular football.

Hoops fans will now be hoping that Christie can help Derek McInnes’ side take the runners-up spot away from fierce rivals Rangers with three points between them and the third placed s.

Meanwhile, Celtic are well on course to win their sixth consecutive Premiership title with 24 points currently between them and the rest of the league.

In other Celtic news, the Hoops are closing in on this striker deal.
