Celtic fans have reacted hilariously on Twitter after it emerged that Joey Barton has failed to take part in Rangers training since Friday because of stress.
The 34-year-old has endured a tough start to life both on and off the pitch at Ibrox, after being suspended following an incident at training ground Auchenhowie with Andy Halliday after Rangers’ 5-1 loss to Celtic.
Barton was given a lifeline in his attempts to save his Gers career last week, but his return to training has been short lived due to this recent revelation.
The one-time England international’s career with the 54-time Scottish champions now hangs in the balance, as doubts continue to grow over the midfielder’s Rangers career.
Celtic fans have reacted with humour on Twitter to the news that Barton has withdrawn from training, with some fans claiming Barton is getting his own back after being suspended.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:

Said this before. Rangers treatment of Barton is a joke. He has been used as a scapegoat. I hope he takes them to the cleaners. #freejoey

Barton has had to endure taunts from home and away fans after a dismal start both on and off the pitch.
Poor performances on the pitch have led to calls claiming he was unfit, while an investigation led to Barton being charged for 44 counts of betting after joining Warburton’s side.
