Celtic have named new signing Scott Sinclair on the bench for their Scottish Premiership opener against Hearts.

The Scottish champions begin their defence against Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday afternoon and Sinclair has made the substitutes only hours after his official unveiling.

Celtic have named a strong side for the curtainraiser and include another new signing Moussa Dembele in the starting line-up.

Celtic confirmed the signing of Sinclair on their official website on Sunday morning as the player joins on a four-year deal, much to the delight of supporters on Twitter.

The Bhoys have already completed deals for Dembele, Kolo Toure and Kristoffer Ajer this summer ahead of the new Scottish Premier League season.

The 27-year-old will hope to find a relatively permanent home at Celtic after playing for several clubs in his career, including Chelsea, Manchester City, Swansea and most recently Aston Villa.

Rodgers has been desperate to set up a third reunion with the former England under-21 international after working with him at Chelsea and Swansea.

The Villains decided to buy Sinclair for £2.5million last summer, and in 27 Premier League appearances, Sinclair scored two goals.

In other Celtic team news, Brendan Rodgers has rejected a rivalry between the club and Rangers.
