Calvin Miller was named in the Celtic starting XI to face Partick Thistle – and fans on Twitter were delighted to see Brendan Rodgers give him his competitive debut.
The Bhoys take on bottom club Partick on Tuesday night at Celtic Park, looking to maintain their unbeaten record in the Scottish Premiership.
According to Transfermarkt, 18-year-old Miller is a centre-forward, but he has played in various positions for the youth side.
Here is a selection of their messages on Twitter:
Fans were clearly delighted with the youngster been given a chance to impress for the senior side as Rodgers men look to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.
However, supporters were questioning were Miller will be playing, with one fan indicating that he is set to feature in the left-back position.
Miller has played 18 games in all competitions for the younger side, scoring three goals and supplying the same number of assists.
He has been utilised on both wings, left-back, and as a centre-forward, but he has played the majority of his games on the left side of attack.
The Glasgow giants lead the SPL by 11 points and they can extend their lead at the top, if they beat Partick Thistle, who are rock-bottom on 15 points from their 17 games.
Rangers are in second place to their Old Firm rivals, Mark Warburton’s side have 35 points from their 18 games, but Rodgers men have two games in hand.
In other Celtic news, Brendan Rodgers must sell this Hoops player who is the biggest flop of the year.
